Ship needed to be updated. Old, not clean and shiny. Food just wasn’t anything special. We prefer a smaller ship. Pools were too small and adult pool too deep. Room was extremely small. We had rough waters the entire cruise which couldn’t be helped. Did not get to stop at last port, due to rough seas. Weather in Miami was pouring rain, as we tried to board ship. Electricity went off which held up boarding. Overall, trip could have been a lot better.

One thing made this cruise vacation experience NOT an excellent experience. That is the fact that our dining room (Deck 4, Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean) was next to the main casino, with a bank of elevators in between. Each time we went to the Main Dining Room, as soon as we exited the elevator, we were assaulted with the nasty smoking smells of the main casino. Whomever decided on this configuration of the casino basically next to the Main Dining Room was an idiot. The smell persisted past the entrance to the MDR. Thankfully, it was not noticeable after getting into the MDR area. But it was truly awful getting off the elevator - and if we had to walk through the casino - it was the worst! Are there any cruise ships that do not allow smoking in the main casino? One thing made this cruise vacation experience NOT an excellent experience. We really enjoyed our cruise out of New Jersey to points northward in October 2023. The fall foliage was so pretty and we went to places we had never been before. Boston, Portland, and Bar Harbor in the US, and Halifax and St. John's in Nova Scotia. It was a Royal Caribbean cruise; our ship was the Liberty of the Seas. The food was good, as was the entertainment on board the ship. There was never a lack of things to do. A piece of advice: try to book a cabin at the forward part of the ship - closer to the dining rooms and eating areas. Due to the design of the ship (the Royal Promenade in the middle of Deck 5), there's quite a bit of walking if your cabin is at the rear of the ship. Not a major inconvenience, mainly advice for people with mobility issues. Overall, it was a great trip and we had a lot of fun. We had never travelled together to Europe before. My wife and I enjoyed everything about our trip except for the 25-foot seas we experienced in the Atlantic Ocean. This part of the trip made us really question an "ocean cruise". Each port (Cartagena, Malaga, & Vigo, Spain) and land extension (London & Paris) were filled with adventure and fun. First off it was the best ever! The excursions were fun and exceeded our expectations! The cruise in itself was fantastic. Great food, entertainment and casino.
